Dylan’s pursuit of online dating actually began way before the modern notion of online dating existed... as a teenager in the early 1990’s he lived in a rural area, far enough from town that a PC, a 2400 baud modem, and a regional computer bulletin board system (BBS) became his main tools for keeping in touch with friends, and of course for meeting women (although there were far fewer of them online then!)
Fast forward more than a decade...
Dylan, now partner in a company called Way Of Attraction that teaches men the art of being attractive to women... once again finds himself living far enough out in the suburbs that meeting women in person is impractical on a daily basis. With no good local clubs and a 2 hour round trip drive downtown, he decided to try online dating.
...and like most men trying it for the first time, he failed miserably. This came as quite a surprise, since he was actually in the business of teaching attraction. So he went back at it again and his results were barely any better. It was at that point that he decided to break down the process stage by stage, and figure out the secrets of online dating.
He jumped into the fields of psychology, marketing, advertising, relationship dynamics, social logistics, and writing... and began to put together a strategy. In the following two years, he submerged himself completely in online dating. And then one day, two years later, his business partner, Zan Perrion, said “you know a lot about online dating, why don’t you write a book about it?” It seemed so obvious.
The first version of Online Casanova: For Men hit the internet in late 2007, with Online Casanova: For Women following about six months later.
Although Dylan now resides in the downtown core of the city, he still uses online dating as his primary source of meeting women, and truly believes that is the fastest, most efficient way for single men and women to find happiness.
